The name Findell
comes from the name of the first Miniature Schnauzer to be registered in
Germany in the late 1800's. For more about the history of Miniature Schnauzers,
Findell Miniature Schnauzers are allowed the freedom to roam into
and out of their own air conditioned and heated shelters. They also
have continuous access to my home but spend most time running and guarding
a 1/4 acre fenced yard. Mini-Schnauzers are bred to hunt vermin and hunt vermin they do! Demonstrating
true Terrier qualities, my dogs hunt everything from bugs to rabbits (mainly
hunted by the mighty Snookums).
My Mini's have great temperments and
play well with my grandchildren. Although they sound the alert when a visiter
comes, the Mini will relax when it realizes there's no threat.
When shopping for a Mini-Schnauzer, remember - there is no "toy" Mini-Schnauzer. The Belgar line typically creates a smaller dog, but within American Kennel Club (AKC) standards. Only AKC accepted and registered dogs are allowed in the Findell Kennels bloodline, which ensures that all offspring will also be within the AKC breed standard.
We also only breed AKC registered colors. Being selective ensures our dogs are true, pure and healthy. So remember, whether selecting a dog from us or another breeder, keep within the AKC standard and don't "toy" with your dog's health.
